Announcing a new Meetup for Unexpected Treasures!
What: Moonrise over DC
When: February 28, 2010 5:30 PM
Where:
Netherlands Carillon and Park
George Washington Memorial Parkway
1 Marshall Drive
Arlington, VA 22211
If my calculations are correct, on February 28, 2010 at 6:22 PM the full moon will rise at 87 degrees east of north. The alignment of the Capital Building, Washington Memorial and Lincoln Memorial are 90 degree east of north. This should have the moon rise directly over the buildings (weather permitting).
I suggest a meetup at 5:30 at the Carrilian just off Route 50.
