Unfortunately I didn't arrive at the Eagle Festival until about 11:00 so possibly missed earlier events. On arrival, I questioned park guides as well as several individuals with serious camera gear and only found two from UT.
There were several interesting and educational displays set up for both the adults and children plus some special events for the children.
The Blue Heron and Eagle rookery portion of the preserve which, per staff members is only open to the public one day per year, was interesting and well staffed with knowledgeable guides. Photo taking in this area was fair at best as the roosting birds were barely visible even with a 300mm lens. I found that most of the flying birds were too quick to line up a decent shot.
