The Eagle Festival features local and national environmental organizations, live music, canoe tours, hay and pony rides, trips to a great blue heron rookery, environmental education stations and bird-banding demonstrations. Live shows with reptiles, aquatic animals, hawks and owls are also on tap. And it's all free.
Hopefully we will have better weather this year! No promises, we've had rain for 2 years in a row! I'm doing a non-rain dance this year!!
I am going to be on travel in Florida that will prevent me from attending this event. I have changed it to an unled event. You are all big kids, you'll have a great time without me. Take advantage of the ride to the great blue heron nesting area in the Elizabeth Hartwell NWR. The raptor show is an excellent photo-op if they carry the birds outside the tent. Hike out to a photo blind build as an Eagle Scout project. Jamie got a shot of a bald eagle there a couple of years agao. Have a great time!

Rain.. Will they cancel?
Anyone traveling to this shoot from the Rockville, MD area that wishes to car pool. I should be able to drive if necessary.
i've never been to this event. Is it all outdoors or some inside? It looks like rain - could be a drag. Can someone provide background info?
It is primarily outdoors. Dress for the weather. If there is any lightning, however, I am sure that the park ranger will order individuals off of the open areas for safety reasons.
Is any one traveling from Herndon, VA....
