This year, the wreaths will be laid in the Arlington Cemetery on Saturday December 11, 2010. This is a very beautiful and memorable sight. The more than 24,000 holiday wreaths will be placed in Sections 28, 38, 43 and 60. With any luck, a light dusting of snow can make this a beautiful picture!

To drive to Arlington, be prepared to pay for parking or take the Metro Blue Line to the Arlington Cemetery stop.

Although this is a guided meetup, please consider going to the Arlington National Cemetery another time in December to see the wreaths and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for your freedom. Don't forget to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers on the hour.

I was just asking a buddy of mine about this. Thanks.

Does anyone know the restrictions for Arlington. I went on Veterans Day and, despite passing numerous security guards, was told once I was inside that backpacks (my camera bag) aren't allowed. Anyone know the restrictions on bags, tripods, etc.

Im not too sure about Tri-pods.. However, I walked around the Cemetery a few times already with a Large Camera Bag with no problems.

I was there a few weeks ago and had a tripod out most of the time. No one said anything to me regarding it, but I don't know if it is allowed or not.

The images I took a couple of years ago and recent ones with Bill Rosenmund involved a tripod or monopod. It may have been an occassion where there was a dignitary internment. I have never been restricted by security guards, but there can always be restrictions for special occassions. I checked the web site, there are no restrictions mentioned.
