Old Dominion Speedway offers opportunities for photography of local NASCAR racing. There are races most Saturday nights, except for the 4th of July, the PW County Fair and Richmand race. The raceway is in Manassas.

This is a very limited opportunity because of the potential danger of being in the pits of an active race track. Cars moving through the pits in the dark, accidents and flying parts, etc. You need to be focused on the action and be prepared to move quickly to avoid injury. I feel uncomfortable trying to keep up with more people.

We will meet at the main entrance to the grandstands and walk to the pit entrance to purchase pit passes at $35.00. You must sign a liability release. We will return to the grandstands to look over the track and watch the time trials until 6:30 PM. We will cross the track to the pits to get ready for the first race at 7:0 PM.

You can only leave the pits between races or after the last race.

Things to bring: jacket, water bottle, chair, medium telephoto lens, external flash, extra batteries, extra memory cards, small flashlight and folding chair (optional).
