Most of us have a couple of shots that we are really proud of. It might be an incredible shot of a storm or it could be a portrait that just came out perfectly.
Unfortunately for many of us, these gold shots are few and far between. Sure, we can get the occasional brilliant photo, but we find it hard to put together time after time. Don't worry, most of us have the same problem!
The thing is that by taking your time with a few basic skills, you can greatly increase the chances that you are going to increase your average for getting that great shot. The funny thing is that none of these skills are particularly difficult.
Tonight's Workshop: Post-production Techniques - Aperture
After you go on a photoshoot, you have all of these images, what do you do with them then? This session will focus on basic digital photograph workflow using Macintosh Aperture. The session will cover the basic features and methods of using Aperture to catalog, adjust and process your images after capture. Aperture has many more features than can be covered in one session, but this will get you started in using Aperture and understanding why this is an important tool for the photographer.
If you have a laptop with Aperture installed, you are welcomed to bring it and follow along. Time will be limited, so advanced features will not be discussed.
Keep those shutters snapping.
Note: I will be discussing both Aperture and Photoshop Lightroom, if required.
Just a reminder that the workshop for Thursday will be an introduction to Aperture. I will focus on post-production workflow and techniques. While I will be using Aperture, the concepts talked about tonight can be used with any program. I will try to limit discussion about making adjustments using Aperture and focus more on workflow; however, we can certainly discuss this through the use of the discussion boards. I look forward to seeing you at the workshop.
