See note at the bottom explaining why a fee is being charged for this workshop.
Most of us have a couple of shots that we are really proud of. It might be an incredible shot of a storm or it could be a portrait that just came out perfectly.
Unfortunately for many of us, these gold shots are few and far between. Sure, we can get the occasional brilliant photo, but we find it hard to put together time after time. Don't worry, most of us have the same problem!
The thing is that by taking your time with a few basic skills, you can greatly increase the chances that you are going to increase your average for getting that great shot. The funny thing is that none of these skills are particularly difficult.
Tonight's Workshop: Introduction to Portrait Photography
Bill Rosemund, a professional photographer will share with us at our April Workshop. He is going to discuss the basics of portrait photography, including lighting types, lighting set-ups, camera settings, and posing. He will be bringing two mobile studio set-ups with different backdrops.
Bill has arranged for three models, a male model and a father/son couple so you can try your hand at composition. We will downloading your photos for critique and to provide photos for the models for sitting for us (TFCD). Please bring your cameras, lenses and blank formated memory card!
Skills level: The concepts discussed in this workshop are basic elements of photography, but the discussions may get in depth.
This is a hands-on workshop and a camera is required. Please bring your camera, lenses, and a blank memory card.
Keep those shutters snapping.
Notice About Fees
Free workshops are great and I will continue to offer them. However, it is not fair to others in the group when members sign up for the workshop and don't show. Because of the nature of tonight's workshop, I am charging a fee to register. If you attend the workshop, I will refund your money. The workshop is still FREE. If you register and cannot attend the workshop, for whatever reason, then your registration fee WILL NOT be refunded and will be added to the group's general fund. Thanks for your understanding.

If you haven't been to the Reston Library, it is very near the Reston Town Center. There is plenty of parking in the front. The only door open after hours will be to the right of the main entrance. There are open windows near the door and classroom, so we should be able to see you.
Be sure to bring a notebook to the workshop. If you have any questions for the instructor, please pass them along so we can have them answered at the workshop.
