Continuing my tradition of meetups on the Saturday after a holiday...

Not going "home" for Christmas or just need a break from all the mirth and merriment (and relatives)? Let's hook it up for some holiday shooting in the District. We'll meet on the mall and decide where we want to go from there. There should be plenty to check out within walking distance; Monuments, the Capitol and other federal buildings, the national and state trees, and of course, the White House and once it gets dark, lights.

If you get bored, you can always just go ice skating at the National Gallery!

Meet outside the Smithsonian Metro to discuss and possibly split for shooting, we'll determine a re-meet time then depending on consensus and if we split.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Yes, still on. Hopefully everyone got the email I sent out earlier. I've been in the district since about one and no rain. A bit of fog, but really quite pleasant.

I'll have to take a raincheck this time. Kids want to go skiing! I'm looking forward to the next meetup.

What Jerry said. You're absolutely welcome. We're not hung up on what kind of gear you have or if you're experienced. We just want to get folks out shooting together to have fun, learn, and develop our "talents."

Join us, Becks. This is a great opportunity to learn photography with others.

    •  The weather did not clear totally as the forcast had predicted. The walk was great! We walked 4 - 5 miles of Christmas turkey and pie off. The monuments are great at night. Unfortunately, all of the fountains were turned off because of the cold weather, but there were still many great photo opportunities.
    •  I think a good time was had by all. A great walk and some very good opportunities. Will have to do it again when the fountains are on (I swear they all were two weeks ago!).
